On February 27, 2013, about 1840 coordinated universal time (UTC), a Cirrus Design Corporation, SR-22, Brazilian registration PR-SLS, was destroyed when it impacted the ground shortly after takeoff from a farm field in the Tiros Municipality, in the State of Minas Gerais, Brazil. The airplane was consumed by a postimpact fire. The Brazilian pilot was fatally injured and the passenger was seriously injured. According to witness reports, a storm was in the vicinity of the farm field at the time of the accident. The flight which was conducted under Brazilian flight regulations, and was destined for Poços de Caldas Airport (SBPC), Minas Gerais, Brazil.
