Analysis

On June 18, 2013 at 1655 Universal Coordinated Time (UTC), a Piper PA-28-161, French registration F-GHLY, operated by a private individual, was substantially damaged when it impacted with the slope of a mountain near Barcis, Italy during a cross-country flight from Locarno Airport (LSZL), Switzerland to, Lesce Bled Slovenia Airport (LJBL), Republic of Slovenia. The pilot was seriously injured and the two passengers were fatally injured.
