The pilot and passenger were fatally injured, and the airplane was destroyed due to impact forces.
According to Russian authorities, the helicopter departed before sunrise and impacted terrain approximately four minutes later. The cockpit, as well as the main and tail rotor blades was destroyed. The tailboom remained intact.
