On October 14, 2014, at 1340 local time, an amateur built Vans RV-6A, VH-JON, collided with terrain near Moorabbin, Australia. The airplane was being operated under the pertinent civil regulations of the government of Australia. The airplane was substantially damaged and the pilot, the sole occupant, was fatally injured.
