On March 20, 2016, at 1745 coordinated universal time (UTC), an experimental amateur built York Laser Z-200 airplane, Dutch registered PH-LSR, was destroyed when it impacted terrain under unknown circumstances near Abbeyshrule, County Longford, Ireland. The private rated pilot, who was the sole occupant, was fatally injured. The flight originated from the Abbeyshrule Aerodrome (EAIB) at an unknown time.
