On July 2, 2016, about 1625 coordinated universal time (1325 local time), a Cessna 182E, Brazilian registration PT-DJH, operated by Aerotur Taxi Aereo LTDA, was destroyed after it impacted the ground shortly after takeoff from Julio Cesar Airport (SBJC), Belem, Brazil, during a parachutist launching flight. The airplane was observed level by air traffic control at 8,500 feet, and was subsequently observed by witnesses as it descended, with its wings collapsed. The pilot and three passengers were fatally injured.
