Analysis

The DIRECCIÓN GENERAL DE AERONAUTICA CIVIL (DGCA) of Mexico has notified the NTSB of an incident involving a Magnicharter Boeing 737, which occurred on July 12, 2016. The NTSB has appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative to assist the DGCA investigation under the provisions of ICAO Annex 13 as the State of Manufacturer and Design of the airplane.

On July 12,2016, at 0029Z, a Magnicharter B737-300(S/N 24455, XA-UNY) registered to Grupo Aereo Monterrey experienced a severe vibration on the left main landing gear during the landing roll on Runway 05L at Mexico City Airport. The vibration caused the fracture of the shimmy damper, damage on upper and lower torsion link pin, damage on upper and lower torsion link. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time and a visual approach was accomplished. The 5 crew members and 145 passengers on board were not injured. the flight originated from Cancun Airport.
