On February 20, 2017, about 1225 UTC, a Piper PA-28-161, French registration F-OGPJ, owned and operated by Aeroclub Les Ailes Guadeloupeenes, collided with a house while conducting low altitude cruise flight near Petit Bourg, Guadeloupe, French Antilles. The pilot was fatally injured and the airplane was destroyed. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed for the local flight that originated at Pointe-a-Pitre Le Raizet Airport, Grande-Terre, Guadeloupe.This investigation is under the jurisdiction and control of the French government.
