On September 2, 2017, about 1700 hours universal coordinated time, a Piper PA25-235, Mexican registration XB-EXZ, was substantially damaged when it impacted powerlines near Sueco, Chihuahua, Mexico. The pilot was seriously injured. The local flight departed the Cornelio Froese Airport and was returning at the time of the accident.The accident investigation is under the jurisdiction of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGAC).
