Analysis

On September 7, 2018, about 1933 coordinated universal time a Yakovlev Aircraft YAK-9UM airplane, VH-YIX, impacted terrain during a local flight that departed from the Latrobe Valley Airport, Victoria, Australia. The pilot in command was fatally injured, and the airplane sustained substantial damage.
