On February 28, 2019, an Embraer ERJ 190-200 LR powered by two General Electric CF34 10E7 turbofan engines, experienced smoke filling the cabin during the takeoff roll from Exeter International Airport, Devon, United Kingdom. The takeoff was aborted and an evacuation of the airplane was performed. There were no reported injuries to the flight crew or passengers on board.
The United Kingdom Air Accident Investigation Branch (AAIB) is conducting an investigation into this event and the United States National Transportation Safety Board has assigned an Accredited Representative to support the AAIB investigation in accordance with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Annex 13 as the State of Manufacturer of the engines.
