The Beechcraft Baron 55, America's premier light twin-engine business aircraft, established new standards for speed and reliability in general aviation during its 22-year production run. First flown in early 1960, it was a low-wing twin-engine monoplane that could seat up to six passengers in business-class comfort. With a cruise speed of 225 mph and spanning nearly 38 feet, the Baron 55 was manufactured by Beech Aircraft Corporation in Wichita, Kansas.
