The Airbus A300B4-600, the world's first twin-engine wide-body airliner in its stretched and modernized form, revolutionized commercial aviation by proving that two engines could safely power large passenger aircraft on long-distance routes. First flown on July 8, 1983, it was a low-wing twin-turbofan configuration that could accommodate approximately 250-300 passengers or serve as a dedicated freighter. Spanning over 147 feet in length with advanced ETOPS certification enabling 180-minute single-engine operations, it was manufactured by Airbus Industrie.
