The DG-1000T represents a breakthrough in modern sailplane design as the first high-performance competition glider to successfully integrate self-launch capability with world-class soaring performance. First flown in July 2000, it is a tandem two-seat glider powered by a retractable 91-horsepower Solo engine that provides both training versatility and competition excellence. With an 18-meter wingspan and maximum glide ratio of 46.5:1, the aircraft measures 28 feet in length and can carry 353 pounds of water ballast. DG Flugzeugbau manufactured this advanced composite sailplane at their Speyer, Germany facility.
