The C-130H Hercules, one of history's most versatile and enduring military transport aircraft, transformed tactical airlift with its ability to operate from unprepared airstrips worldwide. First flown as the YC-130 prototype on August 23, 1954, it is a high-wing four-turboprop aircraft capable of carrying 92 troops, 64 paratroopers, or 45,000 pounds of cargo. With a wingspan of 132.6 feet and length of 97.8 feet, the aircraft demonstrated exceptional short takeoff and landing performance with takeoff runs as short as 800 feet.
