The Boeing P-8 Poseidon represents the world's most advanced maritime patrol aircraft, serving as the primary replacement for aging P-3 Orion fleets across eight nations. First flown in 2009, it is a twin-engine jet aircraft derived from the Boeing 737-800 commercial airliner, capable of anti-submarine warfare, surface surveillance, and reconnaissance missions. With a maximum speed of 500 mph and operating range significantly exceeding its turboprop predecessors, the P-8 spans 123 feet with a 124-foot wingspan. Boeing manufactures the aircraft at facilities in Renton, Washington and Seattle.
