The Ayres Turbo Thrush (S-2R-G/T series) transformed agricultural aviation as one of the first successful turbine-powered crop dusters, offering quieter operation and lower costs than radial-engine predecessors. First entering production in 1977 following Ayres Corporation's acquisition of the Type Certificate, it was a low-wing monoplane that could carry up to 2,273 litres of chemicals with a single pilot. With a 13.1-meter wingspan and powered by Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A or Garrett TPE331 turboprops, it was manufactured by Ayres Corporation until 2003.
