The Bombardier Challenger 601-3A revolutionized super-midsize business aviation as the first Challenger variant to feature a modern glass cockpit and transcontinental range capability. First flown in September 1986, it was a low-wing twin-turbofan business jet that could seat 9-12 passengers with a spacious 28.3-foot cabin. With a range of 3,290 nautical miles and wingspan of 64.5 feet, it was manufactured by Canadair and later marketed by Bombardier Aerospace.
