The CRJ-900 became the most successful variant of Bombardier's regional jet family, revolutionizing short-haul commercial aviation by connecting smaller cities to major airline hubs. First flown in 2001, it was a low-wing twin-engine turbofan aircraft that could seat 76 to 90 passengers depending on configuration. Measuring over 118 feet in length with a range exceeding 1,500 nautical miles, it was manufactured by Bombardier Aerospace at their Montreal Mirabel facility from 2001 to 2021.
