The Piper PA-14 Family Cruiser was America's first production four-seat touring aircraft from the renowned Piper Aircraft Company, representing a crucial transition from post-war two-seat trainers to family aviation. First flown on March 21, 1947, it featured a high-wing configuration with fixed tailwheel landing gear, powered by a 115-horsepower Lycoming O-235 engine. The aircraft measured over 23 feet in length with seating for one pilot and three passengers, offering a maximum speed of 123 mph and 500-mile range. Only 238 examples were manufactured by Piper Aircraft between 1947 and 1949 at their Lock Haven, Pennsylvania facility.
