The Embraer EMB-312 Tucano was Brazil's first successful turboprop trainer export, marking the country's emergence as a major aircraft manufacturer. First flown on August 16, 1980, it was a low-wing single-engine turboprop trainer that seated two crew members in tandem configuration. Powered by a 750-horsepower Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-25C engine with an 11.14-meter wingspan, it was manufactured by Empresa Brasileira de Aeronáutica (Embraer).
