The Boeing E-3A (CFM56) Sentry is the world's most successful airborne early warning and control aircraft, revolutionizing modern aerial warfare through persistent radar surveillance and battle management. First flown in 1972, it is a low-wing four-engine turbofan based on the Boeing 707 airliner, equipped with a distinctive 30-foot rotating radome and accommodating a crew of 17 to 23. With a wingspan of 145 feet 9 inches and operational endurance exceeding 8 hours, the aircraft was manufactured by The Boeing Company from 1977 to 1991.
