The Transall C-160, a groundbreaking Franco-German military transport aircraft, represented one of the first successful multinational aerospace collaborations during the Cold War era. First flown on February 25, 1963, it was a high-wing twin-turboprop transport capable of carrying 90 paratroopers or 63 casualties with medical attendants. With a length of over 106 feet and distinctive twin-engine configuration, the aircraft achieved a maximum speed of 319 mph. The C-160 was manufactured by the Transall consortium, a joint venture between Aérospatiale of France and MBB/VFW-Fokker of Germany.
