The PC-6C Turbo-Porter, a rugged Swiss utility aircraft designed for extreme short takeoff and landing operations, revolutionized access to remote mountainous terrain and undeveloped airstrips worldwide. First flown in 1959, it was a high-wing single-turboprop monoplane capable of carrying up to 10 passengers or 1,500 kilograms of cargo. With exceptional STOL performance enabling operations from strips as short as 60 meters, the aircraft measured 11 meters in length with a 15.87-meter wingspan. Manufactured by Pilatus Aircraft of Switzerland, production spanned 63 years until 2022 with 604 total aircraft built.
