The British Aerospace RJ-70, a shortened variant of the successful BAe 146 regional airliner, represented the final evolution of Britain's most successful commercial jet program. First delivered in late 1993, it was a high-wing, T-tail configuration powered by four Textron Lycoming LF507 turbofans and could accommodate 70-94 passengers. With a length of 26.16 meters and wingspan of 26.21 meters, only 12 examples were manufactured before production ended in 2003. British Aerospace developed the aircraft through its Avro International subsidiary at Woodford Aerodrome in Greater Manchester.
