The Aero L-159 ALCA (Advanced Light Combat Aircraft) represents the Czech Republic's successful transition from Soviet-era fighters to Western technology, serving as both a light attack aircraft and advanced jet trainer. First flown on August 2, 1997, it is a single-engine, low-wing monoplane powered by a Honeywell F124-GA-100 turbofan, accommodating one or two crew members depending on variant. With a wingspan of 8.10 meters and maximum speed of Mach 0.83, the L-159 was manufactured by Aero Vodochody in the Czech Republic.
