The British Aerospace RJ-100 represented the most advanced variant of Britain's most successful commercial jet program, serving as a quiet regional airliner designed for operation from noise-restricted airports. First flown in 1981 as part of the BAe 146 family, it was a high-wing, T-tail aircraft powered by four turbofan engines and capable of carrying 100 passengers.
