The Boeing 747-300 was the first production jumbo jet to feature a full-length stretched upper deck, fundamentally changing wide-body airliner design. First flown on October 5, 1982, it was a wide-body four-engine jet that could accommodate between 416 and 660 passengers in its distinctive two-story configuration. Measuring 231 feet 11 inches in length with a 195-foot 8-inch wingspan, the aircraft achieved a maximum range of 7,285 miles. Only 81 examples were manufactured by The Boeing Company between 1982 and 1991.
