The Lake Buccaneer LA-4-200 was an improved four-seat amphibian aircraft that addressed the underpowered nature of its predecessor through enhanced engine performance and increased fuel capacity. First flown in 1968, it was a high-wing pusher-configuration monoplane powered by a 200-horsepower Lycoming IO-360-A1B engine, with a 38-foot wingspan and maximum gross weight of 2,600 pounds. Manufactured by Lake Amphibian Inc. of Laconia, New Hampshire from 1969 to 1981, it became a cornerstone of the company's amphibian aircraft family.
