The EMB-120 Brasilia was Brazil's most successful regional airliner, serving as a modern replacement for the aging DC-3 fleet across the world's commuter routes. First flown on July 27, 1983, it was a low-wing twin-turboprop aircraft seating up to 30 passengers with a pressurized cabin for high-altitude operations. The 64-foot aircraft achieved cruise speeds of 343 mph, nearly double that of the aircraft it replaced. Manufactured by Embraer of Brazil, 357 Brasilias were delivered to operators worldwide before production ended in 2001.
