The Swearingen Merlin IV was a pressurized twin-turboprop business aircraft that brought jet-like features to the corporate aviation market of the 1970s. First flying as the prototype Merlin IIA on April 13, 1965, it was a low-wing twin-engine design powered by Garrett TPE-331 turboprops and typically seated 11 passengers in executive configuration. Spanning over 46 feet with a length exceeding 59 feet, the aircraft was manufactured by Swearingen Aircraft Company in San Antonio, Texas.
