The Rockwell Jetprop Commander 1000 represented the pinnacle of the legendary Aero Commander lineage, serving as a high-performance turboprop business aircraft that bridged the gap between light twins and corporate jets. First flown in its turboprop configuration in December 1964 as the 680T precursor, it was a low-wing twin-engine aircraft powered by Honeywell TPE331 turboprops that could accommodate 6-11 passengers in a pressurized cabin. With a wingspan of 47.6 feet and cruising speeds up to 308 knots, the aircraft achieved a service ceiling of 35,000 feet and range of 2,080 nautical miles. Production by Rockwell International and later Gulfstream Aerospace totaled 108 aircraft between 1982 and 1985.
