The Cessna 177RG Cardinal RG was a high-performance retractable-gear general aviation aircraft that represented Cessna's ambitious attempt to create the "Airplane of the '70s." First flown in 1971, it was a low-wing single-engine monoplane that seated four occupants with distinctive swept styling. Measuring 27.3 feet in length with a cruise speed of 144 knots, it was manufactured by Cessna Aircraft Company from 1971 to 1978.
