The PZL-130 Orlik emerged as Poland's first post-Communist indigenous military trainer, designed to modernize pilot training with jet-like handling characteristics at turboprop operating costs. First flown on October 12, 1984, it was configured as a low-wing, single-engine two-seat trainer with provisions for ejection seats and light armament. Measuring 9.2 meters in length with a 10.7-meter wingspan, the aircraft achieved a maximum speed of 550 kilometers per hour. Manufactured by PZL Warszawa-Okęcie in Warsaw, Poland.
