
The PZL-Świdnik W-3 Anakonda represents Poland's first indigenously designed and manufactured helicopter, marking a significant achievement in Eastern European aviation. First flown on November 16, 1979, it is a twin-engine medium helicopter capable of carrying up to 12 passengers or equivalent cargo. With a main rotor diameter of 51 feet 6 inches and powered by two PZL-10W turboshaft engines producing 1,167 shaft horsepower each, the aircraft demonstrated Poland's capability to compete in the international helicopter market. The W-3 series was manufactured by PZL-Świdnik in Świdnik, Poland.
