
The Beech 100 King Air was the first stretched turboprop in the business aviation market, establishing Beechcraft's dominance in corporate transportation. First flown on March 17, 1969, it was a low-wing twin-turboprop aircraft that could accommodate up to nine passengers in its pressurized cabin. Measuring 44 feet in length with a 45.8-foot wingspan, the aircraft achieved cruise speeds of 287 mph and could operate above weather at altitudes exceeding 21,000 feet. The series was manufactured by Beech Aircraft Corporation in Wichita, Kansas through three variants totaling 383 aircraft.
