The Boeing 747-8, the final evolution of the legendary jumbo jet family, represented Boeing's last attempt to compete in the superjumbo aircraft market. First flown in 2010, it was a low-wing four-engine jetliner that could seat up to 467 passengers or carry massive freight loads as the world's highest-capacity cargo aircraft. Featuring a 5.6-meter fuselage stretch over its predecessor and powered by four General Electric GEnx-2B67 turbofan engines, the 747-8 achieved 15 percent better fuel efficiency than earlier variants. Boeing manufactured 155 aircraft at its Everett, Washington facility from 2008 to 2023.
