The Airbus A380-800, the world's largest passenger airliner, represented the pinnacle of commercial aviation engineering with its unprecedented double-deck configuration. First flown in 2005, it was a wide-body, four-engine aircraft capable of carrying 850 passengers in high-density configuration across two full-length passenger decks. Measuring over 238 feet in length with a wingspan exceeding 261 feet, the massive aircraft required specially modified airport infrastructure to accommodate its size. Despite its technological achievements, only 254 examples were manufactured by Airbus between 2002 and 2021.
