The AgustaWestland Apache AH.1 is a British-built variant of the proven American AH-64D Apache Longbow, customized specifically for the British Army's tactical requirements. First flown in 1998, it is a twin-engine attack helicopter powered by two Rolls-Royce Turbomeca RTM322 turboshaft engines producing 1,566 kW each. The aircraft measures over 58 feet in length with a four-blade main rotor system and can achieve speeds of 259 km/h with a range of 537 kilometers. Originally manufactured by Westland Helicopters under license from Boeing, with 67 aircraft delivered between 1998 and 2004.
