The S-92 Helibus, a large twin-engine helicopter designed to bridge commercial aviation with rotorcraft operations, represents Sikorsky's most ambitious attempt at creating an airline-style helicopter transport. First flown on December 23, 1998, it is a twin-turboshaft aircraft capable of carrying up to 19 passengers in airline-style seating or serving specialized roles from offshore oil platform support to presidential transport. Measuring over 64 feet in length with a four-blade main rotor system, the S-92 was developed by Sikorsky Aircraft as a scaled-up evolution of their proven S-70 Black Hawk design.
