The Stampe SV-4 was Belgium's most successful aerobatic trainer aircraft, serving as the backbone of European flight training and competition aerobatics for three decades. First flown on May 17, 1933, it was a conventional two-seat biplane powered by a de Havilland Gipsy Major inline engine. With its distinctive swept-back upper wings and 12.2-meter wingspan, the SV-4 could reach 188 km/h and became renowned for its gentle handling characteristics. Designed by Georges Ivanoff for Société Stampe & Vertongen, over 1,000 examples were ultimately produced across multiple countries.
