The Boeing 767-200ER, part of Boeing's groundbreaking twin-engine wide-body family, revolutionized medium to long-haul air travel by proving that fuel-efficient twin-engine aircraft could safely replace thirsty tri-jets and quad-jets on oceanic routes. First flown in 1981, it was a low-wing twin-engine wide-body that could seat up to 255 passengers with a range of 6,590 nautical miles. Measuring 159 feet in length with a 156-foot wingspan, it was manufactured by Boeing Commercial Airplanes at their Everett, Washington facility.
