The Van's RV-12 represented a groundbreaking entry into the Light Sport Aircraft category, becoming America's most successful homebuilt LSA design. First flown in 2008, it was a low-wing single-engine monoplane that could seat two occupants with a maximum takeoff weight of 1,320 pounds. Powered by a 100-horsepower Rotax 912ULS engine, the aircraft spans 27 feet with a length of 20 feet.
