The NEW GLASTAR Sportsman 2+2, a versatile four-seat kit aircraft that revolutionized homebuilt aviation with its exceptional adaptability, first flew as the GlaStar prototype in November 1994 before evolving into the current configuration by 2003. This high-wing, single-engine aircraft accommodates four occupants with a 2,350-pound gross weight and features interchangeable landing gear configurations without structural modifications. With a 35-foot wingspan and cruise speeds reaching 153 knots, the Sportsman established new standards for backcountry capability in kit aircraft. Glasair Aviation continues production today, having sold approximately 350 kits since 2003.
