The Learjet 40, a shortened derivative of the Learjet 45, served as an affordable entry point into mid-size business jet aviation from 2002 to 2013. First flown on August 31, 2002, it was a low-wing twin-turbofan aircraft that could seat up to 7 passengers in executive configuration. With a fuselage 24.5 inches shorter than its larger sibling, the aircraft was manufactured by Bombardier Aerospace at their Wichita, Kansas facility.
