Analysis

On October 21, 1994, about 1530 eastern daylight time, a Cessna 150L, N18539, registered to Ormand Beach Aviation, operating as a 14 CFR Part 91 instructional flight, crashed on landing at the Ormand Beach Municipal Airport. The airplane was sustained substantial damage, and the student pilot reported minor injuries. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed and no flight plan was filed. The flight originated from Ormond Beach Municipal Airport about 30 minutes before the accident.

The student pilot stated he was landing on runway 8 with 30 degrees of flaps between 60 to 65 mph. On roundout, the airplane touched down twice, bounced up on the left main gear, cartwheeled to the left, and collided with the terrain.
