Analysis
On October 27, 2000, at an unknown time, a Cessna 150, N11214, registered to Winter Haven Air Services, and operated as a Title 14 CFR Part 91 personal flight, was reported missing after departure from Winter Haven Municipal Airport, Winter Haven, Florida. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed, and no flight plan was filed. The aircraft has not been located, and the whereabouts of the aircraft and private-rated pilot are unknown. The pilot, the sole occupant of the airplane, is presumed fatal. The flight originated from Winter Haven Municipal Airport, the same day, about 1315.
According to the aircraft owner, the pilot rented the airplane as he had done several times previously, with the stated intention of flying in the local area. The operator further stated that the aircraft had been full of fuel, and weather conditions were perfect for flying, but the pilot never returned.
Searches have been conducted in the surrounding area, and the aircraft has not been located. The NTSB requested copies of the pilot's logbook from members of the pilot's family, and copies of the logbook have not been provided.
