Analysis

On November 24, 2002, at 2145 eastern standard time, a Cessna T210M, N6026N, registered to and operated by Wildcat Flying Service, had a landing gear collapse on landing roll at Lakeland Linder Regional Airport, Lakeland, Florida. The personal flight was operated under the provisions of Title 14 CFR Part 91 and visual flight rules. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time of the accident. The air transport pilot was not injured, and the airplane sustained substantial damage. The flight departed Charleston Air force Base, South Carolina on November 24, 2002 at 1930.

According to the pilot, during the approach to runway 9 at Lakeland Linder Regional Airport the landing checklist was completed which included the landing gear down and locked indication. On landing roll on runway 9 the main landing gear collapsed settled back on the tail and ground looped. The nose gear of the airplane remained down and locked.

Examination of the airplane revealed both wing tips had heavy scrape damage. The left horizontal stabilizer had stringer and spar damage. Examination of the main landing gear electrically driven hydraulic power pack revealed that it operated normally. No prior mechanical or flight control problems were reported by the pilot before the accident flight.
