Analysis

On November 13, 2003, at an unknown time, a Piper PA-32-300, N8224C, registered to Watermakers Inc., and operated by a private individual as a Title 14 CFR Part 91 personal flight, was reported missing after departure from Staniel Cay, Bahamas. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed and no flight plan was filed. The airplane has not been located, and the whereabouts of the airplane and private-rated pilot are unknown. The flight originated from Staniel Cay, Bahamas, the same day, about 0700.

According to an official with the Bahamian Air Traffic Services, a witness stated that he saw the pilot board the airplane and depart from Staniel Cay, Bahamas, to the southeast. The official further stated that inquiries as well subsequent searches did not reveal any information as to the whereabouts of the pilot and the airplane.
