On February 24, 2009, about 1750 coordinated universal time, an Air Nostrum CL-600-2B19, registration EC-IKZ, experienced a duel engine failure while on approach to Santander Airport (LEXJ), Santander, Spain. The flight crew were able to restart both engines and subsequently landed without further incident. There were no injuries to the passengers or crew and the airplane was not damaged.
The investigation is being conducted by the Spanish Civil Aviation Accidents and Incidents Investigation Commission (CIAIAC). The NTSB has appointed a U.S. accredited representative to assist the investigation under the provisions of ICAO Annex 13 as the State of Manufacturer of the engines.
